Working with parents/carers

At New River College, we work in partnership with parents/carers and families. We know that this is the best way to ensure that your child fulfils their potential during the time they are with us.

We offer many opportunities for parents/carers to come into school and are looking to extend these opportunities further. We have held many successful charity events, coffee mornings and workshops. We invite representatives from organisations such as the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), Islington Families Intensive Team (IFIT), Islington Healthy schools, educational psychologists and other outreach services to facilitate some of these sessions.

As we value your input and opinion, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire giving us feedback on how we can support you further. We also run a parent/carer surgery where professionals are available to answer your questions or signpost you in the right direction.

You will be invited to termly meetings to discuss your child’s progress with their teachers/support staff and to set new targets for their learning and their personal development. If you would like to know more about how you can become involved, please email Jo-anne Lee, Lead for Safeguarding and Child Protection, or call 0207 504 0534.
