Development at the new NRC Primary site at Dowrey Street is progressing rapidly. The building, which will be shared between NRC and The Bridge Integrated Learning Space, is due for completion in May. We are really excited about this new facility and the opportunities it will provide for our young people. Planning for the final stages of the build and the move is ongoing. The architects recently held a workshop for pupils during which they were able to have their say on some of the remaining design decisions, including colour schemes for classrooms.
We are delighted to announce that Ofsted have again reported that NRC Medical is an outstanding school. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of Rosemarie Hilditch and her team. For more detail on the findings of the inspection click here.

Following many months of planning and hard work, construction of the new outdoor sports facility has finally begun at New River College Lough Road. The Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) will be located on the south-eastern side of the Lough Road site, on land which has been unused since the construction of the new school building was completed in 2012.
ETC Sports Surfaces Ltd has been commissioned to undertake the work on the MUGA, which began during October half term and is currently scheduled to be finished by the end of December. The new facility, which will include a state-of-the-art floodlit 3G surface, will provide much-needed outdoor space for all New River College sites to use. It will also be available for use by the local community.
New River College would like to thank the staff and governors who worked so hard to make this new development happen. All staff and pupils are excited about the fantastic opportunities the new facility will provide.
New River College was recently the proud host of a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. On Friday 25th September, staff from NRC Primary and Key Stage 3 based at our Golden Lane site, worked hard to put on a fantastic event which was enthusiastically supported by staff, pupils and parents alike.
New River College would like to thank all the staff, parents and carers who contributed to the event and everyone who attended for making it such a special occasion. All your hard work helped us to raise £106.45 for Macmillan – well done to you all. Special thanks also go to Rose Richards and Holly Brunt whose expert cake-making skills were a huge help.
